(D) On a cold winter morning in a time before the light When I looked closeley at the lyrics, it seemed as if it’s switching points of view, for example: (D= Demons, G= Gods) (also, I always pictured the gods as winged bird-like men/women, and the demons devilish creatures) They realize it’s pointless and return to their rightful realms. Well, I did a paper on this song, in which we were supposed to tell a story with the lyrics (more or less.) and I described it as a battle between the gods of heaven and the demons of hell each longing for/ envious about the other’s placement.
